The ‘Diodos’ Programme

The Intellectum Journal sponsored the closing event of the program ‘Diodos’ run by the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki on Friday 12th May 2006, at 20:00 p.m. in the first floor of the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
The ‘Diodos’ programme focuses on the communication between students of the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and young prisoners of the Diavata Prisons. On the one hand, it aims to establish connection and exchange of ideas between the two groups of about the same age on the penitentiary system, the rights and obligations of the detainees and the general problems of the young adults. On the other, it aims to engage students with volunteerism through activities taking place in the prison’s environment such as dramatherapy, painting, digital photography lessons etc.

The event’s program was the following:

  • Presentation of the ‘Diodos’ by the programme’s coordinator Dr. Sofia Giovanoglou and volunteer students.
  • Wall newspaper.
  • Painting exhibition
  • Music concert.
