Event & Discussion on Juvenile Prisoners

Prison does not solve but magnifies the problem of juveniles’ violation of rights, undermines any hope for a better future and constitutes a crime against society and juvenile personality itself.
The Initiative for the Prisoners’ Rights in Thessaloniki organizes an event-discussion on “Juvenile Prisoners” on Wednesday, 19 March 2008, at the Law School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2nd Floor, Room 212) at 19:00 p.m.
Speakers:

  • G.Tsiakalos, professor at the School of Education of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
  • Κ. Bairaktaris, associate professor of Clinical Psychology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
  • Dr S. Giovanoglou, co-ordinator of ‘Diodos’ and ‘Epafi’ Programmes will present a paper on the «Alternatives to Juvenile Confinement»
  • P. Ketikis, student, ex-prisoner of “Aulona” juvenile prisons.

The discussion will be presented and coordinated by a member of the Initiative for Prisoners’ Rights in Thessaloniki.
