1) INTELLECTUM FUNDRAISING VOLUNTEER OFFICER

Department of Intellectum Organisation: CRIME PREVENTION CENTRE/ACTIONS
Short description:Crime Prevention Centre: Aims at researching, planning and implementing actions for the prevention and combat of criminality. It draws up plans and proposes modern solutions regarding prison operation based on the requisite reform of the Penitentiary System.

Actions: The Intellectum team focuses on developing actions and interventions which strengthen family bonds.

Duration:Negotiable: three to six months, minimum 15 hours per week
 
Work description:Locating fundraising sources and writing funding proposals/grant applications.
Voluntary work description:Actions to receive donations/funding through which the organisation’s purposes are realised (e.g. crime prevention, support of vulnerable groups, strengthening of family ties, promotion of human rights, etc.). More specifically:

  1. Locating fundraising sources
  2. Finding and communicating with partners
  3. Writing and submitting funding proposals/files for national and European programmes, budgeting
  4. Public relations and programme promotion at local/European level, graphic design, etc.

The internship can take place either at the Intellectum offices in Thessaloniki or remotely from the volunteer’s personal space.

It should be noted that if funding is granted, further collaboration opportunities will arise and remuneration will be offered upon agreement.

Prerequisites:
  1. University degree (higher institution) of national or foreign universities recognized by Greek law, preferably on humanities or social/economic sciences
  2. Experience in searching and finding donations and other sources of funding
  3. Experience in drafting grants applications for national and European programmes, such as REC, Erasmus+, Horizon 2020, INTERREG, PA (Partnership Agreement), EEA
  4. Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken)
  5. Excellent computer skills and knowledge of office applications
  6. Organisation and punctuality
  7. Ability to work in a team, collaboration and communication skills
  8. Orderly work – emphasis on detail

2)TRANSLATOR INTERNSHIP POSITION AT INTELLECTUM (unpaid position)

Short description:Interdisciplinary Intellectum journal deals with current affairs analysis, the promotion of new ideas and that of fine arts (intellectum.org)

Duration:Negotiable: three to six months, minimum 15 hours per week
Work description:Translation of journal material from English into Greek and vice versa
Job description:Article and high-profile interview translations from English into Greek and vice versa. Work can be conducted either at the Intellectum offices in Thessaloniki or remotely, from the intern’s personal space.
Prerequisites:
  1. Undergraduate student of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation & Interpreting of the Ionian University or English Literature of a European institution, majoring in English-Greek translations, comparative literature of Greek-English, etc.
  2. Capable of handling work and responsibilities without much supervision
  3. Particular emphasis on detail and quality work
  4. Excellent use of word processing program MS Word and willingness to learn special translation software
  5. Knowledge of special translation tools (e.g. MemoQ) will be greatly appreciated
  6. Excellent knowledge of Greek & English
  7. Very good knowledge of other foreign languages will be greatly appreciated
